Last week, CRITICAL made the trip to Leinster House after being invited up by Senator Joanne Collins. It was a brilliant chance for us to speak directly to TDs and Senators about the life-saving work our Volunteer Responders do every day and to highlight just how much more we could do with extra support.

We gave a short but powerful presentation, sharing the impact our Volunteer Responders have in communities right across Ireland. The message was simple: we need more funding so we can expand our services to reach more people, and ultimately, save more lives.

The response on the day was really positive. Plenty of TDs and senators asked questions and stayed around for chats afterwards. Our volunteers were more than happy to answer them all and give a real sense of what it’s like on the ground, the pride of helping their communities, the challenges, and the real difference it makes to people in emergencies.

We’ve also put together a short video from the day, with clips from the presentation and behind-the-scenes moments. You can check it out here (video will be linked)

We’d like to say a huge thanks to Senator Collins for inviting us up, and to all the TDs and senators who took the time to listen, ask questions, and show their support. It meant a lot to our team.

We’re proud of what we do, and with the right support, we know we can do even more.
